Gonzalo Barboza
⸻ GONZALO IS THE FOUNDING PARTNER OF ELLIPSE.
He has over 25 years of experience in IP and has worked in the United States, Europe and Latin America, and on both sides of the fence, as an inhouse lawyer for a multinational company and as a private practitioner. His experience and expertise are truly global and his outlook and approach international by nature.
Gonzalo regularly advises his clients on trademark and design matters in Spain and overseas, as he manages the global and/or regional portfolio for a number of them. He is also quite active in advising his clients in the media and entertainment sectors, with the drafting and negotiation of contracts and the clearance of rights for audio-visual projects.
His expertise also extends to the technology transfer sector, as well as to the fields of licensing and franchises. Gonzalo also coordinates enforcement and litigation for a number of clients not only in Spain but throughout various countries, particularly in Latin America, where he has significant hands-on experience.
Gonzalo has spoken at numerous national and international conferences on these topics, including INTA, MARQUES and ASIPI. He is also a guest lecturer at IP LLM at the Maastricht University.
